How The Process Works

  • We complete the application form and send it to you for checking and signing.
 
  • We will complete all the business application forms post them to you for checking, signing, and returning to our office in the prepaid envelope.
 
  • You are required to get you ID verified (photo copied, stamped & dated) by an employer, post office, doctor etc
 
  • Place the signed application form and verified ID into the prepaid envelope and post to the Bank
 
  • Following approval, which usually takes approximately 7 to 28 working days, the account details sent directly to your home address.
 
  • There are no bank interviews for the personal account.
 
  • Please note the type of account and bank selected are determined by your personal and/or company circumstances, therefore it is very important we know exactly which banks you have experienced problems either now or in the past, this is also the case for all officers/members of the Company.

1. How can you get me an account when I can't? top

Simply because we know the right places to look. Over the past 5 years we have continually searched the market place and found institution that provide bank accounts for those with less than perfect credit ratings.

Several of these banks we have now established a special relationship and although we (or any other company offering this service) cannot guarantee your account will be accepted (because we are not the actual bank and the finale decision is theirs), we do offer a full professional assessment prior to submitting your application, then should we determine the account is likely to be declined we will offer you your money back in full.

2. What are your fees and will it work for me? top

Your application is dealt with on a personal basis, where possible we will complete all documentation, for poor credit bank accounts we do not receive any commissions from the banks and we must charge you/your Company for this service, our fees are very moderate and vary from £35 for a personal account to £99 for a Business Package, you will not find this service cheaper anywhere on the net guaranteed.

Provided you can prove your ID, you are a UK resident and can prove 3 + year residency then you have a very good chance it will work for you, should you be unfortunate enough to have an IVA within the last 6 years or a current bankrupt then unfortunately we cannot help you obtain a Business Account, though we can help with a personal account.

The bank and type of account selected for you is usually dependant on your personal and your company circumstances, we estimate 95% of all applications are approved by the bank recommended to you.

3. How easy is the process? top

Each account works slightly differently but we try to complete as much of the work as possible for you thus reducing your own work load and organisation headaches including all application forms, you just complete any parts we were unable to, some applications are submitted by FBSL and others by you in all instances at some point you are required to have your ID verified (please see below for documents required), when applying for a business account in most instances the bank will ask you to attend the bank for a short informal interview, though you are not normally asked to produce a company business plan, all personal accounts are approved via post.

4. How long will it take to open my bank account? top

As a general guide to timescales following completion and return of all documents, then receipt of the same by the bank, and assuming the business account is for a new start up, the following estimated timescales will usually apply:

  • Option 10 (Personal Bank Account)- usually 14 to 28 working days - can take longer

The account opening process cannot be hurried and sometimes takes longer than the estimated times however, should your application exceeded these timescale then of course we will be happy to contact the bank for updates.

Very Important - Please be aware that the Bank will in all cases require a contact telephone number and in some cases may need to make contact with you, calls are usually received as “call withheld,” “Private” or “0845,” please ensure you respond to these calls the banks are extremely busy, if they cannot contact you via telephone your application could be placed at the bottom of the pile or worse still forgotten about, in these instances the Banks do not advise FBSL when no contact has been made with you, and we are never made aware on any delays in the process.

5. What if I have been refused by some banks? top

You must advise on the initial application of all the banks who have refused your previous applications, if you have made multiple applications it is advised you leave a “cooling off” period before re-applying, the more searching made on your credit file the less likely you are of getting the account.

We have several options available to us, however in the unlikely event your application is refused by all institutions we have recommended and you have been completely honest about your adverse credit etc, then there must be some other underling issues that perhaps you are not aware of, in this instance it is recommended you apply for a copy of your credit file and forward us a copy.

If there are major issues you will need to deal with them, tidy up your credit history, we can advise briefly on this if required but be assured your purchase never expires, if it takes a year to sort out you can come back to us with confidence knowing we will make every effort to complete the process.

Please supply 1 from each of the following ID

Picture Identification

  • Passport
  • Full drivers licence (Photo Licence)
  • European union national ID card

Confirmation of Residence

  • Utility bill – no older than 3 months
  • Bank statement - no older than 3 months
  • Council tax bill – present year only
  • Full drivers licence if not already used as your ID

All documentation MUST be addressed to the person presenting the documentation.

Additional documents required

  • In some instances the Bank may also require an original Experian / Equifax report (not your own downloaded copy).
